ok its not asian cinema but i think its worth mentioning as alot of people are looking forward to this film
Below is a collection of all the media i found so all the final fantasy fans can lay there eyes on, for FF7:AC.
What We Know ?
Two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII, the human race faces a new threat. Star Scar Syndrome?an illness of some kind?is beginning to spread and is killing the population at a rapid rate.
Due to this, many souls return to the Lifestream of the Planet, and Cloud is left alone to live a lonely life.
Whether or not the main characters such as Tifa and Vincent are alive, we do not know. We do know that somehow Sephiroth will somehow make an appearance, as will a Mystery Man, who looks a lot like a Sephiroth with spikey platinum hair. Is he related to Sephiroth? It appears so, but we do not know exactly how.
End What We Know ?
Speculation ?
- What is Star Scar Syndrome?
Star Scar Syndrome; a most mysterious illness that spreads easily. It kills people. Now, as noted before, 'Star' may be referring to The Planet. If so, is The Planet behind this illness? Note that the Japanese test says people die from it, and does not mention any other species being affected by Star Scar Syndrome. Could this be The Planet punishing humankind for their evil deeds two years before, when they were stealing mako from The Planet and creating dangerous scientific experiments such as Sephiroth?
- Why is Cloud unaffected? Or so it seems.
If, so, why isn't Cloud affected by it? The Japanese teaser says 'Cloud?who fought alone because the world refused others to live?lived a lonely life'. Why was Cloud spared? Is it because he is the hero? If you remember correctly, Cloud wasn't interested in the health of The Planet; not in the beginning, not in the middle, and not at the end of the game. He was focused on getting revenge on Sephiroth. Revenge, revenge, revenge. It is no different from Sephiroth himself, who sought revenge on humankind after they injected him with Jenova cells.
Why does Cloud have the right to live, when Barret was the one who wanted to save The Planet from the beginning?
Could it be that Cloud is not human? If you remember, Cloud was injected with Jenova cells; this could have altered his molecular structure, causing him not to become human. All others who were injected with Jenova cells? The Sephiroth 'Clones'?were killed in The Reunion, aside from Cloud and Sephiroth.
- What in the world is Sephiroth doing alive?
Due to Sephiroth supposedly not being human if this theory is correct, he could be reincarnated just like Bugenhagen shows in his planetary. However, how could Sephiroth be reincarnated, and then age to his normal age in two years? It sounds crazy, and that's probably because it is crazy. These are all mere theories for thought until we have some real information on -Advent Children-. Perhaps Sephiroth was revived somehow; after all, in the V-Jump scans themseklves, it says 'Sephiroth is finally revived?!' We just don't know.
Maybe the Sephiroth we see in the images and teasers is merely a flashback Cloud has when he meets up with the Mystery Man.
- Who IS the Mystery Man?
Mystery Man is a character with Sephiroth-like characteristics. He has platinum hair, only it's spikey, (think Riku of Kingdom Hearts or Tidus of Final Fantasy X) and he is supposedly 'related' to Sephiroth according to what V-Jump thinks. We have no clue who he actually is.
Perhaps Mystery Man is Sephiroth's brother, or evil (good?) twin. Or maybe he is Sephiroth's son, or the body Sephiroth will be reincarnated into. Maybe, just maybe, it is Sephiroth's lover.
.Zach Confirmed In Flashback.
Won't you be quite skeptical... It seems Zach (FFVII) will make
an appearance in CG (duration unknown) during one of Cloud's flashbacks.
"That day... when we escaped..." Incase any of you do not know who Zach is,
he is from Gongaga, which is just south of North Corel and the Gold Saucer.
He left his home ten years prior to the start of the game to join Shinra. Zach,
was a SOLDIER, first class. Him and Cloud were friends and had a good relationship.
We also know his story. Assigned to a special mission in Nibelheim with Sephiroth, Cloud, and another nameless regular, Zack was the one who witnessed first hand Sephiroth?s downward spiral into madness. After being taken down in the reactor by the man he once considered a friend, he was the encouragement Cloud needed to go against Sephiroth, resulting in Sephiroth?s death.
The next five years, Zack spent in the basement of the Nibelheim mansion, being experimented on by Professor Hojo. What exactly was done to him remains a mystery, but he was able to escape and take Cloud with him, traveling half way across the globe to Midgar. Cloud?s condition is mostly a mystery, aside from the few snippets of memory we see, all of which Cloud seems to be quite out of it. This suggests that Zack had to carry him for most of the way.
Once they reach the cliffs outside of Midgar, Shinra catches up with them, and, although Zack manages to take care of a number of them, they wind up emptying a few clips on him and leave him to bleed to death.
This is what is told to us in the game. But if one takes a closer look, there are more things about Zack that can be uncovered. Like the teaser pic from the trailer: Click here to view. It appears Cloud is where Zach was shot.
It is said about 23 minutes through the movie, Cloud falls to his knees, shouting out for Zach... This is when Cloud has his flashback starting from the Shinra Mansion.
So since Zach is confirmed for a high CG flashback appearance 23 minutes
through the movie, we can only imagine what the scenes that take place
will look like...
In an recent interview with members in Square Enix's FF7: AC team, it was said that the movie was about 10% completed. Approximately 20 characters will make an appearance in the project
